▸ How we protect artists' stems

Your unreleased music, in safe hands.

Handing your stems to a stranger is one of the most vulnerable things an artist can do. Mix Market is built around three overlapping layers of protection — identity, access, and legal — so you stay in charge of where your music goes and who hears it before release.

01 / Identity

Mixers verify with BankID

BankID verification is optional during signup — mixers can register and explore the platform without it. But to view any song uploaded by an artist, BankID verification is required.

BankID is the Nordic standard for legally binding digital identity — the same system used by banks, tax authorities, and government services. A verified mixer has a real, legally accountable identity behind their profile. If anything ever goes wrong, we know exactly who they are — and so do the courts.

Unverified mixers can still do useful things inside Mix Market: they can see how many songs are available, browse artist profiles, and message artists directly. What they cannot do is open a song, stream the rough mix, or download stems — those actions are gated behind BankID.

02 / Access

Only verified mixers can browse songs

Your song is never public. There is no public song catalogue, no SEO-indexed track pages, and no way for a fan, a journalist, or a random visitor to stumble onto unreleased material.

Every song you upload is treated as unreleased material. It is never visible to the public, never indexed by search engines, and never exposed to unverified accounts. Only mixers who have passed BankID verification can view your song, hear the rough mix, or request the stems. Everyone else sees a blurred placeholder and a prompt to verify — nothing more.

03 / Legal

Binding NDA before accessing stems and on every download

Before a mixer can download stems for the first time, they must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. This is a binding legal contract — not a checkbox — that prevents them from sharing, redistributing, or publicly releasing any material they access on Mix Market.

Every time they download stems for a specific song, they sign again, tying that download to that exact project. Breaking the NDA leads to permanent suspension from the platform and direct legal action — including damages — under Swedish and EU contract law.
